Essential Responsibilities and Duties

- Under minimal supervision of Director of Staff Development, this position will have primary responsibility for the tracking, administration, and oversight for SLCC’s Required Training Program.
- Collaborate in a timely manner with key departments within People & Workplace Culture, Academic Administration, Risk Management, Legal and others to ensure delivery of data sets and critical information.
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops and training courses for adult learners.
- Develop basic budgets related to area projects and initiatives. Manages program budget in keeping with College policies and procedures.
- The ability to collaborate and consult with subject-matter experts on the effective use of learning strategies, web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and instructional applications and systems to improve learning and training/facilitation.
- Assists with the overall planning and logistical matters related to the training/workshops including registrations, marketing, and assessments as part of the Staff Development team.
- Supervise, hire, and train staff within Staff Development and Universal Access.
- Serve on college-wide committees related to Universal Access and other strategic initiatives.
- Assess potential for online delivery and advise on which areas of the curriculum can be redesigned/enhanced to promote better outcomes.
- Collaborate with Staff Development teams to develop high-quality learning opportunities through timely learning products that support SLCC’s MVV & Staff Development’s mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with eLearning and other partners prior to program implementation to evaluate training.
- Provides technology support and project management in support of department initiatives.
- Promotes innovation in the use of e-Learning and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) throughout the curriculum.
- Well-versed in a variety of common electronic communication accessibility barriers experienced by people with hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, learning, and visual disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to learn/explore new Assistive Technology software and technologies that support accessibility and universal design.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Sociology, Communication, Business, Organizational Behavior, or related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a field with transferrable skills.
- Trade-off 2:1 in experience/education requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Sociology, Communication, Public Administration, Business, Organizational Behavior, or related field.
- Experience with People Analytics – ability to synthesize, interpret data.
- Experience in Higher Education.
- Experience in Human Resource Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically about systems, processes, and people.
- Ability to break down problems and analyze large data sets.
- Facilitate and plan workshops and training courses for adult learners.
- The ability to collaborate and consult with subject-matter experts on the effective use of learning strategies, web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and instructional applications and systems to improve learning and training/facilitation.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change, including flexibility in adjusting priorities and demonstrated initiative to seek and implement process improvements.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive matters with judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
- Collect, synthesize, and share employee-related data by proactively maintaining dashboards regarding program benchmarks and goals.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated skills in the supervision of staff including: hiring, onboarding, training, providing ongoing performance feedback, delegation, and building a collaborative team environment.
- Well-versed in a variety of common electronic communication accessibility barriers experienced by people with hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, learning, and visual disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to learn/explore new Assistive Technology software and technologies that support accessibility and universal design.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
