    The Learning Experience Team within HR Organizational Effectiveness at Albemarle is looking for an experienced instructional designer with a passion for learning and enabling technology.
    The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in learning theory and design best practices to execute learning strategies, deliver learning outcomes, and maximize the learning experience.
    Success in this role means you will regularly:
    • Conduct needs assessment and analysis that leads to effective design strategies aligned with Albemarle’s operating model and OKRs and articulate the measurable business impact of the learning solution.
    • Design high-quality learning solutions for a variety of delivery modalities (e.g., eLearning, microlearning, video, demonstration, simulation, guided support document, instructor-led training, etc.).
    • Manage cognitive load through chunking and reducing the amount of extraneous information to create effective courses that promote learning and retention.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders (i.e., peer designers, learning management system administrators, stakeholders/sponsors, subject matter experts, and communities of practice) and work efficiently across global time zones and functions.
    • Manage and track learning content in Albemarle’s learning management system and LXP, Albemarle University (powered by Cornerstone/EdCast).
    • Lead other designers in defining and applying instructional modalities, standards, and governance for designing and developing best-in-class instructional content.
    • Contribute to thought leadership on instructional design best practices and champion enhancements/improvements/innovations to design processes.
    • Stay current with industry trends in instructional design, learning technologies, and skill development (e.g., gamification, mobile learning, social learning, adaptive learning, AI-powered platforms, extended reality – VR, AR, and MR, etc.).
    • Partner with vendors on multimedia and digital asset creation (e.g., audio, video, graphics, photos, translation services, etc.) as needed.
    • Coach and mentor junior designers and specialists.
    Education/Experience:
    • Instructional design and/or eLearning certificate from an accredited institution
    • Ability to design impactful learning experiences for various delivery environments, both synchronous and asynchronous
    • Deep domain knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and instructional design models (e.g., Merrill’s Principles of Instruction (MPI), Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction, Bloom’s Taxonomy, ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick, etc.)
    • Strong knowledge of Section 508 universal design and accessibility guidelines to create inclusive learning solutions
    • Expert level proficiency with course authoring software and multimedia training applications: Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Azure AI Speech, and Snagit
    • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud applications
    • Proficient with web-based conference services such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar technologies
    • Proficient with learning management systems and learning experience platforms (Cornerstone and EdCast preferred)
    • Proven ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, continuously inspecting prioritization and impact of output to optimize for impact
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain collaborative partnerships
    Preferred Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design & Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Learning Experience Design, or related field
    • Minimum 6 years of progressive work experience actively developing innovative learning solutions and deploying across multiple technology platforms (including mobile)
    • 2+ years of experience interacting with stakeholders in global organizations
    • Highly innovative with a passion for creativity
