    Job Description
    The Technical Trainer/Content Developer is responsible for instructor-led training and eLearning content development for our MPM & Camalot brand equipment. Training covers all facets of equipment operation, maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, safety, and calibration.

    This person will plan, develop, and conduct technical product training programs for ITW EAE’s global staff, partners, and customers. Working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), this role will also be responsible to apply adult learning strategies to create innovative, engaging, and interactive content for our portfolio of technical products. Learning product deliverables include eLearning, virtual class content, and instructor-led courses produced using sound instructional design principles and best practices. In this role, you will have an opportunity to have a direct impact on the ITW EAE training program and strategies, as well as build customer relationships integral to the long-term success of our company.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Training Program Design: Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive training programs (webinar, in-person, self-paced e-learning) tailored to the specific needs of customers, partners and internal teams using MPM and Camalot products.
    • Learning Material Development: Assists with the design and development of training content which may include design documents, learning objectives, storyboards, scripts, simulations, scenarios, assessments, videos, job aids, study guides, etcetera.
    • Delivery of Training: Conduct virtual and on-site training sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill-building.
    • Continuous Improvement: Regularly update and improve training materials based on customer feedback, industry trends, and new product development/enhancements.
    • Develop Best Practices: Establish best practices surrounding e-learning development, including creating design templates and identifying opportunities to streamline the production process.
    • Learning Management System (LMS) Oversight: Assist with the management of the LMS, including content upload, user access, and reporting.
    • Customer Support Collaboration: Collaborate with the service and support teams to identify recurring customer issues and develop targeted training materials to address these challenges pro-actively.
    • Product Documentation: Work closely with the documentation team to ensure training materials align with product manuals and technical documentation.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Create assessment tools and conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Use data-driven insights to enhance training content and delivery.
    • Cultivate Internal Trainer Network: Establish and nurture a network of internal ITW EAE trainers. Coordinate “Train the Trainer” sessions, offer guidance on training requirements, and facilitate ongoing coaching and skill development.
    • Assist Sales Demonstrations: Influence customers in their purchase decision-making process by helping to conduct effective sales demonstrations, showcasing the features and benefits of our products,
    • Training Quote Processing: Manage the processing and response to customers inquiries requesting training quotes, ensuring clear and accurate communication of training offerings.
    • Engineering Feedback Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering teams by providing valuable insights on opportunities for enhancing equipment functionality and serviceability based on learner interactions.
    • Maintenance of Training Facilities: Oversee and maintain the organization’s in-house training facilities and equipment to ensure optimal readiness and functionality for training sessions.
    • Backup Technical Support: Offer backup technical support when required, providing timely assistance to maintain seamless customer experiences.
    • Innovative Training Approaches: Research and recommend novel training methodologies, staying attuned to industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance our training practices.
    • Facilitate Special Projects: Execute additional tasks and special projects assigned by management to contribute to the overall success and growth of the training department.
    Qualifications
    Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

    • BS in Industrial Technology/Engineering related sciences, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in delivering technical training material.
    • Working knowledge in adult learning principles and course development models (ADDIE, SAM, Agile, etc.).
    • Above average experience with MS Office٫ particularly with PowerPoint.
    • Understanding of task analysis, objective development, testing mechanisms, course development, pilot development, and assessments.
    • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic to be able to work independently and simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Able to partner and build relationships to influence teams to work together, share best practices and develop and drive effective training.
    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to keep trainees engaged.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
    • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precise integration and accurate documentation.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
    • Desire to succeed and a flexible “can do” attitude.
    • Willingness to roll up your sleeves, work directly on the equipment, and get dirty to ensure we can document and teach critical skills.
    • The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Instructional design and delivery experience
    • Technical writing experience
    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking
    • Performance Based Equipment Training (PBET) certified.
    • Proficiency with the following tools is highly desirable: Camtasia, Snagit, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalents.
    • Experience working within an LMS.
