    SEL’s in-house Creative Department seeks an experienced full-time Instructional Designer to help create comprehensive, technical training for professionals in the power systems industry. This training is designed to ensure that our customers become experts at using our technology, including tools used for cybersecurity, microgrids and blackout prevention. Collaborating with a technical author, the Instructional Designer will help shape and design learning experiences that are sophisticated and effective.

    As an Instructional Designer, a typical day might include the following:

    • Proposing a design and development strategy for an instructional design project
    • Outlining and storyboarding a multi-day virtual course
    • Creating interactive eLearning content in Articulate Storyline
    • Updating existing ILT course content based on student survey results

    This job might be for you if:

    • You have a portfolio of beautiful, sophisticated learning content, showing that you appreciate the ‘Design’ in Instructional Design
    • You have demonstrated experience creating technical learning content for various instructors to teach
    • You love the challenge of understanding a completely new topic, then designing a learning experience based on adult learning theory
    • You have expert level knowledge of Articulate Storyline, Powerpoint, and Microsoft Word. You might also be pretty comfortable in Photoshop, Illustrator or other design tools
    • You enjoy being part of project teams that include creative collaborators as well as technical partners

    Pay Range Data

    $58,100 – $90,900. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $58,100.00 – $90,900.00 per year
