The Learning and Development team at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) exists to support the agency in reaching our mission by equipping and developing staff with the skills, knowledge, and resources to do their work better, more efficiently, and effectively. The Learning and Development team members are subject matter experts on adult learning, behavior change, and culture development and are often consulted on many different initiatives and projects throughout the agency.
We are seeking a full-time Learning and Development Specialist who will develop, coordinate, and support educational efforts aimed at producing a high level of competency among the organization staff. Equip staff with the necessary skills to provide high-quality services to clients within the framework of organization-wide quality improvement. The ideal candidate will have at 3-5 years of experience in learning content design and facilitation. Familiarity with LMS systems (Relias) is also preferred. The ideal candidate will be people and service oriented, take initiative, have strong problem solving and communication skills.
Shift. Monday to Friday, regular business hours, eligible for hybrid, on site required for learnings that this position leads.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver educational courses and support learning & development initiatives at AMHR Network Management (i.e. live training events, e-learning, job aids, training materials). Prepare classrooms such as setting up training rooms, preparing laptops and other learning equipment and work with IT to resolve compatibility or performance issues, printout handouts and gather other needed supplies
- Maintain attendance and rosters for training, send reminders attendees, disseminate and review feedback surveys
- Utilize and review various instructional delivery technologies (e.g., Zoom, videoconferencing, online modules, webinars, podcasts).
- Adapt instructional language for clarity, group content for manageable learning, strategize and prepare instructional materials for delivery to staff members
- Assist in network-wide training for staff (clinical and non-clinical) as needed, in classroom settings and online delivery formats.
- Facilitate at New Hire Orientation, and other internal events when needed
- Assist in collaboration with content experts to design instructional modules, sessions and materials with consideration for varied learning styles.
- Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in Learning & Development
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: A Bachelors Degree in Adult Learning/Education, Curriculum Development/Instructional Design or similar degree.
- Equivalent experience or Training Certification will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Two years’ of experience in adult learning design and use of technology to support delivery of all aspects of learning.
- Preferred: Two years’ of speaking, coordination and training experience.
- Previous experience teaching or training adults in a classroom or in a virtual environment.
- Preferred: Instructional Design experience.
- Experience in curriculum development and facilitation of training in both technical skills and soft skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with developing curricula in eLearning authoring software (such as Captivate, Camtasia, Wimba, iSpring, Storyline, LAMS, etc.)
- Some knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
- Excellent computer skills to include a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other presentation software programs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public and staff.
- Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of accuracy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Ability to learn new content and develop curriculum in limited time periods.
- Also desired is an individual who can work autonomously, and self-direct some of their work.
Required Vaccinations.
AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as receive an annual influenza (flu) shot prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations we will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.
Salary for this role.
Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on experience and company equity.
- $54,383.87 – $81,575.81 per year
