- Directs the department’s activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.
- Assess current programs and impact and develop short-term and long-term strategies.
- Provide leadership and direction for the development and implementation of learning and talent development strategies and initiatives that align with the company s mission, objectives and business plans.
- Assess, propose and drive programs to support workforce development, engagement and leadership development.
- Use financial acumen, prioritization and organization focused decision making to manage and meet budget guidelines and expectations.
- Act as player, coach and subject matter expert while building out and leading a high-performing learning and development organization.
- Proactively consult and partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to shape L&D strategy and manage change management efforts through impact analysis, key stakeholder identification, communications planning, leadership, coaching and thought partnership.
- Lead planning and coordination of quarterly learning and development events or other organizational learning events.
- Conduct organization needs assessments to identify opportunities and make recommendations that support efficiency, business agility and growth.
- Lead team to design and deliver innovative tools, engaging learning, change and leadership development experiences from core curriculum to function-specific programs.
- Introduce innovative learning methods to include, but not limited to, online eLearning, blended learning, self-study and live instructor-led and virtual learning as it best suits the need, audience and learning objectives.
- Develop analytics and metrics that demonstrate the impact of learning programming and strategy.
- Drive continuous process improvement programming to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with HR Leaders to bring best in class Talent and Succession Management approaches and solutions to the organization.
- Hold certifications or advanced training in several functional areas of learning and organizational development such as Change Management, Executive Coaching, Emotional Intelligence, Behavioral Assessment tools, etc

Complexity of Work: This role requires extensive organizational development experience with a strong focus on leadership development, executive coaching and workforce development. Strong experience building a framework to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness. Broad background implementing and executing organizational effectiveness best practices, and learning and development strategies that align with business needs. Experience utilizing multiple principles, tools and delivery methods within the organizational effectiveness, change leadership, organizational optimization/continuous improvement disciplines. Demonstrated success consulting and collaborating with Human Resources and senior business leaders to analyze organizational needs for development, and align and execute L&D initiatives with organizational strategies. Background as an internal or external client-facing executive coach, consultant and advisor and can follow-through with strong execution.
Required Work Experience: Five (5) years in a professional learning and development environment, with advanced experience developing blended learning programs, self-directed, instructor-led training, computer and other web-based training. Three (3) years of leadership experience directing a Learning & Development team with responsibility for business results; preferably within healthcare organization.
