    The eLearning Development Specialist for Distribution is responsible for evaluating training needs and developing eLearning solutions through the application and utilization of adult learning principles and eLearning technology tools. Conducts and implements training need assessments, program evaluations, instructional designs and eLearning programs. Creates effective and advanced learning programs to effectively train both technical and behavioral skills, using a variety of techniques such as eLearning, videos, graphics, electronic communications and supporting resources. Analyzes training effectiveness and works directly with management to identify solutions for future training needs and adjustments to existing courses. Relies on training and project management experience to plan and accomplish goals.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Develops project documentation, instructional design documents, templates, and storyboards using eLearning development standards.
    • Provides guidance to training staff and shares expertise in the development and use of completed eLearning development methodologies for course design.
    • Develops and deploys interactive eLearning courses, video-based learning, and any supporting training materials (aids, graphics, PowerPoint presentations, participant materials, etc.).
    • Publishes content via LMS, intranet or other distribution platform.
    • Utilizes various authoring and rapid deployment tools to create eLearning tutorials and programs.
    • Creates advanced eLearning training solutions.
    • Analyzes instructional requirements through research and working with subject matter experts.
    • Implements training solutions utilizing a blended approach of various methodologies such as eLearning courses, instructor-led components or video for optimal development of sales professionals.
    • Applies adult learning principles and effective eLearning techniques to produce online learning and classroom deliverables.
    • Coordinates all aspects of training design and delivery including needs analysis, content development, stakeholder reviews, and deployment of completed programs.
    • Evaluates learning technologies and the procurement of the technology and software to support it.
    • Collaborates with management to support an eLearning strategy appropriate for Jackson.
    • Consults with business partners, technical specialists, subject matter experts and other members of the training department to achieve program goals.
    • Collaborates with other eLearning Development Specialists and Digital Learning Specialists across the enterprise to offer guidance and share expertise in the development and use of digital learning development methodologies.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Must have a working knowledge in a variety of adult learning concepts and best practices, and training procedures.
    • Ability to deliver high-quality graphical elements such as custom images, photos, typography, and layouts that are visually aesthetic.
    • Must learn Jackson’s distribution and sales roles to provide effective methodologies in their development.
    • Experience designing and authoring key projects or parts of projects that involve interactive learning technologies such as multimedia training, CBT, WBT, or technology-based interventions.
    • Experience with digital development tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Experience in designing effective training solutions and assessing their impact on employee performance.
    • Ability to multi-task and work effectively on simultaneous projects under tight and changing priorities, scopes, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and on-time completion.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
    • Serve as a technical resource with the ability to test and troubleshoot course functionality and other online assets.
    • Ability to work with stakeholders at various levels to recommend training solutions.
    • Ability to reason and simplify complex processes.
    • Acquire knowledge of skills and business needs, which may include proficiency with: Jackson’s product spectrum, Sales Process, key onboarding components, and a general understanding of the financial services industry and financial advisors.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Communications preferred.

    • 3+ years experience in the design of eLearning courseware required.

    • 3+ years experience in developing training, video, and graphics preferred.

    • Experience with SumTotal LMS preferred.
