Cedar Fair is seeking an Instructional Designer at our Kings Island location. The Instructional Designer is responsible for revising, creating, and developing content that effectively drives learning and competency development. The Instructional Designer supports teams by delivering engaging training materials that reach adult learners.
Responsibilities:
- Determine learning needs using data reviews and needs analysis, to create necessary learning content for all locations and corporate. Projects can vary depending on the subject to meet the business needs.
- Research, evaluate, and implement learning strategies and materials for all Cedar Fair Locations and all associate levels. Determine the scope of educational projects. Develop and design materials and assessment tools.
- Create the layout of all the instructional materials. Develop end-of-training assessments for analysis (ROI for all training curricula).
- Partner with Sr. Instructional Designer to ensure the curriculum meets Cedar Fair Entertainment and Stakeholders guidance for use at all locations prior to implementation.
- Partner with Learning & Development Managers, Subject-Matter Experts, and Park Individuals to provide support for learning content and help them improve delivery and learning methods for everyone.
- Oversee the implementation of learning programs including eLearning, ILT, Virtual Delivery models.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-4 years’ work-related experience required.
- Travel Required: 10%
- The position requires a strong knowledge of adult learning principles, in-person, virtual, or online teaching practices. eLearning development experience, and familiarity with the technology to implement these changes online. This includes Adobe Creative Suite Applications, Articulate Storyline and Rise, various online learning applications, online course management systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office. Experience with training in a classroom or virtual setting, eLearning’s, multiple learning technology platforms (examples: LMS Systems, Socrative, FlexiQuiz, Kahoots, Moodle). Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods including ADDIE.
- Ceridian Dayforce LMS a plus, or working knowledge on LMS applications and ADDIE learning process
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
