Potawatomi Training, LLC is seeking a qualified Instructional Designer (ID) & Technologist who works with an integrated team with Instructional Designers, subject matter experts, and course and multimedia software developers to design cutting edge training solutions supporting classroom and online learning environments. The ID will be expected to work within established project processes, collaborate with team members, and meet project deliverables by designing and presenting detailed storyboards throughout the instructional design and development process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Instructional Designer and Technologist

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs), Government requirements

  • -M.S. of Education (specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology)
  • -Minimum of five (5) years of paid experience developing DL content at novice through expert levels using interactive instructional multimedia

Essential Duties

  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and team members in all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Demonstrate understanding of adult learning principles, and how they best apply to educational products and technological solutions.
  • Assists with reports to include analysis of Government Furnished Information, Interactive Multimedia Design Plan,(IMDP) Media Design Report (MDR), Validation Plan and Report.
  • Apply proven eLearning engagement and motivation strategies, to include (but not limited to): case studies, interactive simulation gamification elements for practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks, as applicable.
  • Create detailed design documents (storyboards & lesson plans + PEs), which support all terminal and enabling learning objectives identified for each lesson, and which clearly and effectively communicate the instructional plan for each lesson.
  • Design performance-based, measurable assessment items which directly align to the learning objectives.
  • Assists the development team with the conceptual design of new interactions.
  • Works with video and sim developers to flush out script strategies to integrate premium film content into courseware interactions.
  • Adhere to accepted Style Guide practices and collaborates with Quality Assurance Specialists in all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Maintains current knowledge of eLearning industry and technologies.
  • Other assigned duties.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to interface with Subject Matter Experts and Senior-level personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
  • Firm understanding of the ADDIE system of design and evaluation.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing, storyboarding, scenario driving practical exercises for DL learning products.
  • Experience in developing eLearning assets and lessons – in collaboration with Programmers/Graphic Artists and/or independently.

– Includes graphics, animations, videos, interactive simulation gamification elements, assessments, storyboards, and other learning tools using a wide range of technologies.

  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience in a Government contracting environment is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Virtual Office
  • Work hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST time zone
