The Instructional Designer position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continuation of all learning programs and courses. An enterprise-wide position, this role will partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts within all business areas of the Bosselman Enterprises to determine learning performance gaps and design learning experiences to meet the needs of Team Members and our growing business. Responsibilities
- Performs Instruction Design work that promotes performance-based, learner-centric training experiences that are accessible, relevant, and promotes a positive Team Member Experience. Obtain and/or develops effective training content and materials utilizing a variety of media and modalities.
- Facilitates design workshop sessions with Subject Matter Experts to determine performance objectives and courseware modality. Prototypes design concepts and gathers feedback from Subject Matter Experts, iterating on instructional design as needed.
- Writes training content, including but not limited to instructor-led training materials, eLearning scripts, video/audio scripts, PowerPoint presentations, on-the-job performance support tools, quizzes/assessments, etc.
- Regularly communicates with and takes direction from Department Director.
- Develops minor eLearning courses per approved course designs using eLearning authoring software.
- Implements learning and development programs in support of the companies’ short- and long-term strategic goals and objectives.
- Performs training content maintenance; regularly reviews courseware and make updates as needed.
- Evaluates training effectiveness and return-on-investment (ROI) and communicates results to all levels of management; modify programs as needed.
- Creates training needs assessments, curriculum analyses, and learning plans to ensure learning content is meeting organizational needs.
- Facilitates Train-the-Trainer sessions as needed.
- Partners with external consultant resources for courseware design and development.
- Partners with Human Resources and Operations in the development and communication/training of policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Supports the organization’s technology efforts and rely on resources and modern approaches to digitize the learning experience.
- Maintains solid communication and working rapport with all business units throughout the organization.
- Stays current in instructional design best practices.
- Supports the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and mission.
- Provides friendly and competent customer service.
- Reports for work in a timely manner.
Additional Job Duties:
- Assists in other training related duties as assigned by the Director of Learning, Development and Inclusion.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous experience in instructional design, corporate training, teaching, education, and/or writing preferred.
- Previous experience using the Successive Approximation Model process (SAM) of instructional design preferred.
- Previous experience using the Articulate 360 authoring tool software preferred.
- Previous experience facilitating instructor-led training experiences preferred.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
- Previous experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time during peak periods.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of web design best practices and digital UX/UI principles preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to think out of the box.
- Highly organized with a record of prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate in English. – IF APPLICABLE
- Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
- Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
- Ability to provide feedback as needed.
