CNO Financial Group’s is hiring a Sr. Instructional Designer who collaborates and supports the Director of Learning Management in the creation of informative content for Sales, Sales Leadership and Management, and operations supporting these functions to help the field organization meet their performance and interpersonal objectives.

As a Sr. Instructional Designer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating and supporting the Director of Learning Management in establishing and carrying out learning strategies design decisions
  • Being able to craft templates and drives course plans and programs including instructor and end-user training materials
  • Serving as a Mentor for other Instructional Designers on the team
  • Being responsible for work completion of Instructional Design staff as well as Independent Contractors on assigned projects
  • Ensures the learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives for both assigned and supervised projects
  • Taking a leadership role in the coordination and implementation of company initiatives from a learning perspective
  • Drives and tests new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement; contributes to new curriculum or program strategies

The Sr. Instructional Designer position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Can take ownership of and periodically reviews (library) content to ensure that it maintains relevance and accuracy/quality of content (make sure library is current and accurate) and initiate corrective actions as needed on assigned programs and supervises the same for supervised projects
  • Are able to drive the conversion of instructor-led base training courses to eLearning modules.
  • Can manage multiple projects concurrently, monitors activity, progress, and time related to project development
  • Partner with Learning Management System (LMS) team or software vendor to resolve any technical issues with the web-based training course or its performance within the LMS
  • Can work closely with graphics, legal and compliance on look and feel of materials as well as handles the approval process of the materials
  • Are able to stay current with the latest industry tools and trends in instructional design

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master degree preferred or 8+ years of experience in instructional design
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating or guiding instructional design work
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
  • Experience in user interface design, graphic design, developing storyboards
  • Experience using Captivate, Articulate or Articulate Storyline

  • Skilled at providing significant and timely feedback to staff and contractors on assigned projects
  • Having a strong ability to apply training theories and principles, including applied behavioral science, adult learning theory, and/or established industry models of evaluation as well as critique and guide other instructional designer’s work
  • Skilled at clearly and concisely conveying training content in a manner that engages learners and improves learning retention rates while developing the same skills of other staff members
  • Providing strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to takes a leadership role in establishing training outcome measurements
  • Having strong relationship building skills to work within the department, with the field and with members of other departments

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
