Simplify Compliance provides over 2,000 eLearning modules to customers supporting topics around HR, Environmental Health and Safety, Healthcare, Leadership, and more. We are looking for a collaborative individual with an eye for instructional design and course development to join our fast-paced team to help reimagine off-the-shelf content into engaging, customer-specific courseware.

Simplify Compliance provides eLearning training to customers supporting topics around HR, Environmental Health and Safety, Healthcare, Leadership, and more. Courses are sold off-the-shelf or can be customized to suit client needs. The primary focus of this role is to develop custom courses.

The eLearning Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing eLearning courses and supplemental materials for Simplify Compliance customers. The eLearning Developer will engage and collaborate with various sponsors including Editorial staff, Learning & Development colleagues, sales team, customers, and external contractors. This role will leverage adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and user experience best practices for the continuous improvement of Simplify Compliance learning assets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom courses and curriculum; assist throughout the design and development lifecycle, work with customers to understand project scope and set expectations; work with sales to help define pricing, timeline, and SOW; liaise with customer, vendors, and/or SMEs throughout project; develop and QA courseware using Articulate Storyline
  • Define and document learning objectives
  • Create visual, audio, and interactive learning tools
  • Edit and develop online learning materials, including learning activities, assignments, and assessments
  • Maintain existing courses as applicable; incorporate user experience enhancements, apply instructional design best practices, and apply updates to art, graphics, learning treatments, and subject matter to ensure accuracy and relevance
  • Provide input for supplemental material templates and overarching designs; ensure accuracy relative to subject matter and adherence to standards through peer reviews, ensure brand standards are maintained
  • Update and maintain department records, control and edit logs, quality control checklists and guidelines, and various data points
  • Submit for Continuing Education credits, as needed
  • Work with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by user
  • Assist the production team with new builds and SME updates as needed

  • Experience with eLearning course-building tools, including but not limited to Articulate Storyline or Rise (preferred), Adobe Captivate, or similar
  • Deep level of understanding and/or experience in building eLearning courses or modules, including video/audio editing
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and similar
  • Knowledge of learning delivery platforms such as LMS, LCRS, microlearning, and V-ILT tools
  • Familiarity with MS Office, MS Teams, JIRA, Google Docs, Adobe, SharePoint, and/or project management tools to support overall product development
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of adult learning principles to products to facilitate learning and enhance user experience
  • Experience with design platforms, such as Adobe InDesign
  • Understanding of website design best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education with focus on Adult Learning or related area of study
  • 2 years’ experience in learning and development course design
