As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction in an online format, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Ph.D or other terminal degree, with an emphasis in Instructional Design.
- Minimum: Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Technology (Instructional Design), or Doctoral or Master’s degree in a field related to Instructional Design with a graduate certificate or 15 hours graduate credits in Instructional Design coursework. AND exceptional expertise to include a minimum of two items from the following criteria:
- 1. Expertise using eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc. and expertise in multimedia learning principles.
- 2. Has been recognized with two or more awards for their expertise in content area related to Instructional Design.
- 3. Has at least 2 publications in peer reviewed journals related to Instructional Design within the last 7 years.
- 4. Have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field for which they would be assigned a course.
- 5. Hold certifications related to Instructional Design above and beyond degree credentials.
- 6. Holds or has held a position as a director or higher (Exec Director, Assist VP, VP, Superintendent, or C-level) in the work setting for a minimum of 4 years in the area related to the course.
- 7. Experience teaching courses in Instructional Design.
- 8. Demonstrated expertise in Instructional Design models, theories, or practices.
