This position is responsible for designing, developing, managing, and implementing comprehensive learning solutions to achieve business objectives of Wealth Management Team at CNR/CNB. This role will:
- Establish and maintain relationships with the wealth/investment management line of business, and partner with subject matter experts to provide high quality customized training solutions and course development that are strategically aligned with business objectives.
- Deliver quality products for large-scale technology initiatives and “client facing” experiences and skills with the ability to engage in conversations with key stakeholders in Wealth Management line of business to determine training content needs, propose training solutions, design and deliver training. Define learning strategies and design talent development programs that include assessments, curricula, experiential learning and evaluative metrics.
- Curriculum design areas include technical training in support of digital transformation, investment industry solutions (equities, fixed income, alternative investments, etc.), sales, and soft skills development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Assist in creating and implementing education learning & development programs that support effective delivery of technology training, investment strategies & asset allocation methodology to Sales personnel, Portfolio Managers, and other business units at Wealth Management Team of City National Rochdale.
- Assess the Wealth Management business process, identify the gaps in knowledge and skills, design, and implement training programs in alignment with client needs and corporate direction. Make recommendations for improving colleague performance and determine the required program or interventions. Understand and develop evaluation tools that measure impact and effectiveness of learning and development programs.
- Assess critical business issues, provide consultation to business units to enhance business processes and/or improve performance. Facilitate design and implementation of organizational change efforts. Advise on team design and performance. Coach managers to enhance management and leadership skills.
- Develop instructional content and materials utilizing various instructional design methodologies and technologies. Create design documents outlining course objectives, content, assessments and evaluation criteria. Manage learning environment and learning opportunities using classroom, live-and-online, self-paced e-learning, and blended learning methodologies. Understand and apply state-of-the-art adult learning theory. Keep current with latest organizational and individual behavioral research and learning delivery technologies.
- Assist in managing projects including the development and oversight of project design plans, implementation plans, and on-going continuous improvement plans. Interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination and support between different business units. Monitor project schedules and resolve project related issues appropriately.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Bachelor’s Degree and five years learning and organization development experience.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Financial Services, with preferred direct experience in Asset/Wealth Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience with development of training material that consists of written and e-Learning course content, presentation material, instructor guides, or learning activities focused on meeting defined learning objectives
- Minimum 5 years of experience in computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate and Camtasia
Skills and Knowledge
- 10 years of experience with development of training material that consists of written and e-Learning course content, presentation material, instructor guides, or learning activities focused on meeting defined learning objectives.
- Master’s Degree (finance related and/or Securities licensed preferred) with 5 years of learning and organization development experience.
- Life Insurance, Series 7, 63 or 66, or other financial industry related preferred.
- Must possess expert level instructional design skills, strong attention to detail, and have a high degree of flexibility. Materials will be developed rapidly with frequent changes and updates.
- Technically savvy-ability to research and quickly learn and deliver training on new technologies in support of business objectives.
- Advanced proficiency in workplace learning and development principles and authoring tools with knowledge of Instructional design architecture, preferably in two or more related to Articulate and Camtasia.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems.
- Business acumen and understanding of the investment/wealth management business.
- Solid project management experience (i.e. planning, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple high level projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in an Agile development process. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in identifying and managing complex group dynamics and reacting in real time to changes in content and/or process.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and impact people at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of colleagues, Subject Matter Experts, contractors, and third-party vendors.
- Communicate effectively and skillfully in both oral and written form.
- Has an in-depth understanding of the role that organizational learning and development plays for individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Possesses demonstrated ability in needs assessment, objective setting, and evaluation/measurement of learning opportunities.
- Has strong presentation skills and can adapt style as appropriate to audience and delivery method.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $92,114 – $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
