We are seeking a Curriculum Developer to join our team in developing effective training curricula using appropriate instructional methods that best suit the content and the learner, and aid in successful knowledge transfer.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Performs cradle-to-grave development of effective training curricula, and incorporates feedback from contributors (internal and external). Works closely with team leadership to grow and maintain the existing training product line.
    • Innovates and presents creative ideas to enhance the training library and appeal to today’s modern adult learner.
    • Actively participates in product planning and prioritization discussions, project kickoffs, content meetings, reviews, and other project-based meetings as needed.
    • Works closely with R&D (Portfolio Management, Customer Insights, and Innovation) and Editorial & Consulting Services leadership to develop new training products and introduce new types of training products.
    • Contributes to the design and development of content-based curricula used in online training, Instructor Led Training (ILT,) and Blended learning; including but not limited to: eLearning courses, trainer guides, employee handbooks, training publications, classroom exercises, video scripts, and training aides.
    • Maintains expertise in eLearning techniques and technology. Evaluates and recommends software and tools, and when necessary provides training on tools to other associates.
    • Provides consultation and/or leadership within project teams in defining curricula for new print, electronic, and web-delivered, training products.
    • Maintains print and digital media to ensure the content reflects the most relevant materials, regulations, and best practices.
    • Attends video shoots when required (narration shoots and b-roll,) and communicates vision on-set with Creative Content Project Leader.

    Qualifications

    Experience:

    Associate Curriculum Developer

    • 2+ years in a curriculum and instructional design related role (internships may be included).
    • Experience building and maintaining training materials preferred.
    • Experience with the development and maintenance of related products a plus (i.e. print, training, web).
    • Prior project management experience a plus.

    Curriculum Developer

    • 4+ years in a curriculum and instructional design related role.
    • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining adult-facing training materials using adult learning methodology and instructional design principles.
    • Experience with the development and maintenance of related products a plus (i.e. print, training, web).
    • Prior project management experience preferred.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in adult education/training, instructional design, or a related field.
    • In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 4+ years of combined education and closely-related experience (in addition to experience listed below) may be considered.

    Computer Skills:

    • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite.
    • Experience with Articulate Storyline or Studio, Captivate, Lectora, or other similar eLearning development software.
    • Experience with eLearning training programming specifications and requirements (SCORM, AICC, Tin Can API) and how they interface with Learning Management Systems is preferred.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects) is preferred.

    Other Requirements:

    • Knowledge of eLearning course creation and design.
    • Understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles.
    • Skilled in script writing.
    • Familiarity with art direction, video/audio editing, and interactive game/activity building.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and independently when necessary.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong time management skills.
    • Ability to handle complex projects and make decisions independently.
    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams of internal and external project contributors.

    Physical Requirements

    Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.
