Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Learning and Organizational Development, the Sr Learning and OD Consultant will manage learning and OD professionals as well as be responsible for implementing educational strategies and maximizing opportunities for development. The Sr Learning and OD Consultant will design and develop performance interventions based on analysis, create learning solutions, including instructor-led/virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, and job aids.
This role will partner with internal and external customers to construct needs assessment and most appropriate learning and OD solutions, influences and drives learning recommendations for implementation, manages course quality, and provides facilitation support and supervision. The successful candidate will facilitate courses using a blended learning approach and evaluate solutions to ensure business objectives and professional development goals are achieved. This position will be highly visible, multi-faceted role that will play a critical role in building a learning organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate forecasting, curriculum development, and implementation of learning programs that create superior learning opportunities for NLG using advanced adult learning practices.
- Work collaboratively with the AVP of Learning and Organizational Development, leadership, subject matter experts and team members on curriculum development, content, and all interrelated activities for Learning and OD representing the People Center.
- Analyzes and retains session evaluation data and creates recommendations for improving projects/programs as well as conducting needs analysis to determine implementation of new programs.
- Integrates creative solutions to employee concerns based on developmental feedback derived from surveys and other modes of feedback.
- Serves as a SME on committees relating to learning and organizational development.
- Manages performance of Learning and OD Consultant and Learning Associate.
- Develop and launch competency-based learning paths to support professional development in NL University.
- Facilitate and enhance course offerings utilizing best practices in learning and OD to drive results across National Life Group
- Evaluate business unit’s overall learning requirements, business objectives, desired results, and constraints; Establish project plans and conduct cost/benefit analysis for recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Culture Team, affinity groups and business leaders, to execute learning solutions.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously including course design, facilitation, evaluation, project management, and presentation development.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education:
- Education
- Baccalaureate Degree in Education, English, Business, Organizational Development, or Industrial Psychology required. A Masters Degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent experience (see point 2).
- Experience
- 12 years in learning, organizational development, and instructional system design (instructor led and e-learning).
- -Managed project teams of at least 10 members
- 5 years of conducting performance management of teams
Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Instruction System Design certification or experience
- Evaluation certification or experience
- Facilitator certification or experience
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate internally and externally to achieve goals and promote the mission of NLG.
- Must be highly organized and able to work on multiple tasks, priorities, and time requirements.
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
