We are currently looking for a VP Learning & Development. In this role you’ll oversee the learning and development department and evaluate overall effectiveness and performance through the application of individual, classroom, and eLearning training techniques and programs, consistent with the Credit Union’s organizational priorities. You will be responsible for the oversight and development of staff and work closely with leaders across the organization to improve processes and member service. You’ll serve as a member of the leadership team, supporting and contributing to the attainment of organizational goals

To thrive in this role, you should have five to eight years of similar or related commercial lending experience and a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Learning, or related field. This position is equal parts problem solving and fostering relationships. This might be the role for you if you enjoy working in a role requiring motivating others, communication, and a high level of interpersonal skills.

Key skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles/theories and their integration with facilitation and curriculum development. Experienced in instructional design, program development and administration, eLearning technology application, and retention metrics.
  • Exceptionally skilled in facilitation.
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to work with multiple levels of the organization. Strong performance management and leadership skills to provide advisory services to external departments and manage direct reporting staff effectively.
  • Development, performance management, training, and employee counseling skills essential.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to manage multiple business units and generate both immediate and long-term results.
  • Experienced in MS Office programs to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and all internal systems as affiliated with the department.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive innovative strategies and implement them in a timely, effective manner.
