Job Summary
Provides instructional and course design expertise in the development, design, and assessment of strategies and materials to support online and hybrid educational programs.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with the staff in the Center for eLearning and the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. Assists faculty subject matter experts (SMEs) through consultations, professional development programming, and helpdesk requests.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Design, implement, and assess – 35%
Design, implement, and assess courses for online and hybrid delivery.
Collaborate with subject-matter experts – 25%
Collaborate with subject matter experts in designing new courses, revising existing courses, and developing
learning activities, assessments, and rubrics.
Provide faculty assistance – 20%
Provide faculty assistance in using instructional technologies and pedagogical tools such as embedded learning management system tools, web conferencing platforms, and other tools integrated with the learning management system.
Conduct quality assessment – 10%
Conduct quality assessment for existing and newly developed courses, providing feedback for improvements and revisions.
Develop guides and procedures – 10%
Develop and revise documents, guides, and procedures.
Supervisor Expectations:
• Experience working in a university setting and interacting professionally with faculty and students.
• One to two years professional experience using a learning management system (e.g. D2L Brightspace, Canvas, Blackboard) for instructional and course development.

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related work experience.

Conditions of Employment
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.
