GEICO’s Corporate Learning department is seeking an eLearning and Learning Technology Manager to join our team!
We are looking for someone who you will be responsible for developing plans and budgets that support the goals of GEICO’s Corporate Learning group strategy and will also have experience leading teams using Scrum and/or Kanban practices. This position requires a proven track record of collaboration with learning leaders, subject matter experts, and product owners that results in learning aligned to business outcomes. The selected candidate needs to be tactical and a strategic thinker to support the achievement of organization-wide learning objectives. This is a technology-focused role.
As the eLearning and Learning Technology Manager you will be responsible for delivering enterprise scale multi-media learning solutions. You will lead a talented team of eLearning instructional designers and eLearning developers to deliver effective learning solutions that align learning modalities and delivery methods to learning outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team that will design, develop, and maintain exceptional eLearning and training solutions that meet the learning needs of our corporate customers.
- Manage the production of high-quality learning content production using a variety of learning methods (eLearning, Instructor-led, virtual, simulation, gamification, microlearning, etc.)
- Provide learning solutions from internal customers by understanding desired business outcomes
- Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to build and execute learning programs that support strategic goals
- Partner with HR teammates to create content for existing programs such as internship, leadership development, and mentoring
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of learning programs through surveys and analytics, as necessary. Remain current in adult learning theory and industry trends to provide the best possible solutions
- Research, evaluate, and monitor data, trends, new educational tools and frameworks (adaptive learning, active learning, learning analytics), software applications, devices, and emerging computing and educational technologies to assess their value
- Manage, organize, and increase utilization of the Learning Management System and other learning platforms
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality content and competitive pricing
Skills Needed:
- Extensive experience in instructional design and eLearning courseware development
- Understanding of adult learning theory and practice
- Experience with video, multimedia, and graphic material production
- Skilled in project management principles and practices
- Supervisory principles – Teamwork, inclusive leadership, ability to mentor and develop others
- Strong proponent of change and the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Understanding of product development processes, from conception through course or product release
- Knowledge of eLearning solutions for SAAS based software application training
- Experience managing and collaboration with outside subject matter experts and program owners
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and deliver quality results in a time-sensitive environment.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, Instructional Design or related field
- Three years of meaningful experience related to eLearning and Multimedia production, including two supervisory experience years
- 3+ years creating, facilitating, and evaluating high-quality learning content via multiple delivery methods: virtual, classroom, microlearning, eLearning, etc.
- 3+ years partnering with internal customers to identify development needs and desired outcomes
- Prior experience utilizing or managing a learning management system or HR systems preferred
- Experience managing teams using Scrum and/or Kanban (preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal interpersonal skills
Location: HYBRID Eligible – Must be in the Washington, DC metro area
