Position Objective:

The Global Learning Content Manager is responsible for all elements of managing global learning content. This includes managing the Learning Management System, setting and managing standards, training administrators and users, keeping the system up to date with courses (eLearning and classroom), classes, curricula, reports, users, roles, and troubleshooting. The position is also responsible for being the SME in all types of learning methods including face to face, virtual and eLearning development.

The Global Learning Content Manager acts in a consultant manner, supporting and partnering with various departments and SMEs to advise and assist in creating the most appropriate learning experience and understands how to prioritize and manage learning projects from start to finish and meet key business objectives and desired goals.

The GLCM is familiar with multiple training techniques and prepared to train the trainer when needed. This also includes designing, developing, and maintaining e-Learning courses as well as training SMEs in eLearning development tools and techniques. This position will also be actively involved in the hands on and eLearning training of the SAP implementation and Salesforces.com.

This role will be expected to collaborate in a cross-functional way with other Daikin, Inc., divisions across North America; take away and share best practices, identify where combined efforts can drive business success, and where resources can either be shared or combined to achieve goals more efficiently and at a lower cost.

Given the consultant type role, the GLCM will have very strong communication skills and be able to gain training participation through consistent communication and relevance.

Key Accountabilities:

50% Content Development:

  • Create training courses.
  • Update or fix existing eLearning courses.
  • Upload course content to the LMS and test appropriately.
  • Coach and Mentor Subject Matter Experts on internally developed eLearning courses.
  • Develop the company standard eLearning template
  • Deliver eLearning development software training as needed. Assist OD&T team to create content for leadership, plants and branch sites as needed.

25% Learning Management System Administration and Expertise:

  • Manages the day-to-day and ongoing operation, maintenance, usage, analysis and administration of Success Factors Learning Management System.
  • Manages annual compliance training and completion reporting.
  • Uploads courses, assessments and other materials to the LMS.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on content and tests content functionality and communication with LMS prior to deployment.
  • Answers and resolves technical issues related to the LMS system including documenting and responding to the LMS e-mailbox.
  • Serves as a point of contact for managers and employees for questions and problems relating to the LMS system.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to Local Administrators including providing training on LMS and assistance with assignments and local requests.
  • Delivers routine reporting and uploads training history monthly. Prepares reports, graphs, charts, and statistics to support leadership and customer requests.
  • Works with functional experts to rationalize courses in LMS to ensure consistent delivery of content and avoid duplication to efficiently manage costs.
  • Acts as Project Leader in further deployment of LMS rollout to the businesses.

• Works with eLearning vendors to ensure functionality with LMS. • Creates and maintains LMS process standards.
10% Learning Strategy:

  • Collaborate with OD&T, Operations and HR teams to innovate and inspire impactful learning and business strategy.

10% Internal Training Communications:

  • Effectively communicate upcoming learning initiatives and projects. Understanding the landscape of the org and how to best communicate with each department lead/manager to help achieve measurable success.

5% Daikin Inc. Collaboration:

  • Weekly, monthly, and quarterly collaborative sessions with other Daikin organizations to share best practices and find improved efficiencies for all Daikin learning teams.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design or Information Technology or comparable studies;
  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design with a specialty in eLearning Development (preferred);
  • CPLP- Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (preferred);
  • 3-5 years of experience as a LMS administrator (prefer experience with Cornerstone on Demand and Success Factors Learning Management System);
  • 3-5 years publishing courseware using eLearning standards like SCORM and AICC;
  • 3-5 years’ eLearning design & development experience;
  • 3-5 years of experience with Captivate, Articulate 360, and/or SNAP;
  • Some experience with SAP (preferred);
  • Cornerstone on Demand, Success Factors or other LMS;
  • Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Captivate, Articulate or other eLearning publishing software;
  • Project Management;
  • Bilingual (preferred);
  • SAP (preferred)
