Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid), a member of the Brown & Brown National Programs family, is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist.
The Learning & Development Specialist will leverage their strategic mindset to interface with the business and assess business learning requests. They will have experience with the development of training deliverables to include Web Based Trainings, Job Aids, Instructor Guides, as well as building business cases, applying adult learning theory and industry leading training practices, and a strong program management and consultative background focused on training. This role will enable alignment and partnership with the business and key stakeholders.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Consult with business partners to understand the strategic business roadmap and recommend training solutions based on identified needs.
- Gather training requirements from the business and develop training deliverables in different forms based on content analysis
- Conduct discovery sessions with business partners to scope requested learning needs.
- Provide on-going analysis of learning programs across a broad spectrum of audience roles.
- Prioritize learning needs of the business by analyzing data, projected impact, and scope of work while making timelines visible to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership on learning and development strategies, processes, programs, and tools.
- Consult on learning design plans, providing insights based on understanding of application of adult learning theory and specialized business knowledge.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focusing on internal and external project aspects.
- Assist team members in measuring and optimizing the ROI of training projects and initiatives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Expert knowledge of Articulate 360 creator tools such as Rise 360 and Storyline 360, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of video editing tools such as Camtasia Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects, is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to learn from experience and apply that learning to perform successfully under new or first-time conditions.
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy under direction from the Learning & Development Team Leader.
- Ability to travel as appropriate (approximately 20%).
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Instructional Design, eLearning, Digital Learning, Learning/Organizational Development, or related field is preferred.
- Experience in a directly related role, creating, and designing learning solutions.
