The Global Product Information team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables for Dematic standard solutions and subsystems. As an Instructional Designer for standard solutions and subsystems, you will design world-class online or in-person training deliverables, build best-in-class certification programs, and establish learning pathways that promote professional development and technical expertise for internal audiences across the globe.

You will work with subject matter experts to identify your target audiences training needs and apply proven instructional design theories, practice, and methods that enable learners to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and engaging manner. In this role, you will develop technical training and certification for Dematic’s global team of mechanical and controls and commissioning engineers.

Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What You Will do in This Role:
  • Identify target audience’s training needs by collaborating with subject matter experts
  • Map competencies and objectives and design an effective assessment and performance measurement strategy
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Multi-media interactive design
What We are Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as instructional design, educational technology
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with technical products (hardware preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or controls engineering considered an asset
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Good lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Proficient with a variety of eLearning development tools
  • Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
  • Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
