The Learning Consultant develops and designs highly engaging and interactive learning solutions and applies industry-standard methodologies, including ADDIE, SAM, and AGILE to the full life cycle of course development in an established process by developing a course needs assessment, course design, implementation, and evaluation for the design and development of a diverse set of programs to support MedStar’s leadership and associate learning portfolios.
Partners closely with key business partners and subject matter experts to translate business intent into engaging, interactive courseware, including ILT, VILT, online learning, Webcasts, mobile, social, video, microlearning, and authoring tools for training. Analyzes learning needs, design and develop blended learning solutions, and measure and report on learning effectiveness.
Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Adult Learning/Education, Education, Psychology, Human Resources, Change Management, or related discipline Required
- Master’s degree or Advanced Training Certificate Preferred
Experience

- 5-7 years 5 years experience working in a corporate setting developing, designing and evaluating management and leadership courses/programs. Experience developing learning solutions using ADDIE, SAM, AGIILE or other instructional design processes. Preferred and
- 3-4 years Familiarity with relevant coursework with designing, developing instructor led (virtual and in person) as well as development of online modules and other eLearning solutions, and use of tools such as Storyline, RISE< Snagit, SurveyMonkey, etc. preferred. Required and

- Video and digital storyboarding, design and development.
- Designing and implementing learning solutions using social, mobile, video, and micro-learning methods.
- Consulting to, presenting to, and interacting with stakeholders in a consultative manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to translate complex concepts and data into graphically appealing and easy-to-understand presentations.
- Ability to analyze and de-conflict information from a variety of sources to form instructional sound course content.
- Ability to create supporting course documentation, including design documents, storyboards, art style guides, and learning objectives.

- Design & Development: Develops online and in person learning solutions and tools which are engaging and creative, while still maintaining the instructional integrity and validity of the solution. Determines appropriate learning solutions for a variety of learning styles with varying skill levels. Tests effectiveness of learning content and materials and revises as needed.
- Design & Development: Designs and develops learning materials/tools, from ideation to evaluation. Leverages effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills. Conducts stakeholder, subject matter expert, and learner interviews. Creates learner and curriculum roadmaps; recommends the optimal blend and supporting rationale.
- Design & Development: Determines, recommends, and documents project instructional standards and strategies, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plan. Leverages gamification and rich media to enhance the learner experience. Designs content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leaders and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions.
- Design & Development: Partners internally with strategic partners or externally with vendors as needed to develop and enhance learning content. Fosters continuous improvement and innovation in learning programs, including the review and refresh of curriculum materials periodically across programs and delivery methods. Serves in a consultative capacity to identify key training opportunities to meet customer objectives. Maps out short and long-term training plans for internal clients, as needed.
- Facilitates formal and informal learning related to HR initiatives. Understands when and how to acquire additional resources and/or subject matter experts when needed.
- Facilitation: Delivers world-class training, leveraging various mediums including instructor-led training (ILT), web-based/virtual training, blended, 1:1, customized, and/or job aids. Prepares the learning environment, physical or virtual, for training.
- Participates as an active team member and contributor on work that supports the Talent and Organizational Development teams, as well as Human Resources overall.
