As a member of the Customer Optimization team, the individual selected for this Instructional Designer role is accountable for the planning, design, development, delivery, and management of credit union-facing learning material. Those solutions will include both synchronous (e.g. instructor-led and web-based) and asynchronous (e.g. web-based and self-study) resources.
This role will shape the creation and support of lending product learning solutions using digital learning and platforms in all possible forms. This can range from blogs and videos, webinars and online collaboration, online courses, immersive experiences, and other curriculum and resources. The focus of the work-product from this role is to help credit union employees learn new skills, enhance their job performance, create and maintain authentic member experiences, drive credit union results, and develop themselves for the future. Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize Instructional System Design models (e.g. ADDIE) to produce relevant and targeted training, specializing in Analysis, Design, and Development
- Share knowledge of instructional design to serve as a consultant through the entire solution development process
- Gather information about learner needs through research, project team participation, testing, and interviews with subject matter experts; Diagnose learning and performance issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Conceptualize and develop instructional support material, including online learning, facilitator-led presentations, videos, and performance support resources in compliance with key processes, style guides, and templates
- Create engagement activities, realistic scenarios to use in simulations, and videos to add relevance to target audience
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Ensure overall quality of content and delivery by establishing success metrics associated with the overall business goals
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across learning solutions
- Benchmark and evaluate external learning technology
- Apply API knowledge to consult on learning integrations
- Research and utilize economic, financial, and organizational data to build and document the business case for investing in workplace learning and performance solutions; using business terminology when communicating with others
- Maintain open and streamlined communication with all staff involved in new initiatives and projects as related to training; Communicate with internal staff, field, and customer on all aspects of project from analysis to evaluation

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in Instructional Design and Development with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, theory, and strategies
- Demonstrated successful experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Lectora, Articulate Rise, HTML and video editing software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with and communicate to all levels of management and administration; ability to develop rapport with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload to complete projects with minimal direction
- Demonstrated success and passion in creating an environment that fosters and recognizes high performance, high engagement, and personal accountability
- Ability to resolve complex problems, formulate improvement strategy, appropriately integrate technology, with successful and on-time implementation/delivery
- Demonstrated positive results using persuasion, influence, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability and self-discipline to work remotely with a high degree of latitude, collaborate with virtual teams as well as execute virtual learning solutions
- Demonstrated understanding the use of in modern technology in the learning industry
- Proven expertise in conducting learning and development needs assessments, solution design, development, implementation, and impact evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to measure impact of learning and human performance initiatives through industry standard methodologies
- Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, efficiency, and innovation in course design as applied to experiential learning, e-learning, activities, games, scenarios, role-plays, and the like
