Job Description
As an innovative instructional designer, you’ll collaborate with policy specialists and subject matter experts to design and produce engaging and innovative training content. In this role, you will contribute to all aspects of training for an operations audience, including the analysis, design, development, and publish training. You’ll work with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders to provide training support for major process and product launches while ensuring all content meets YouTube’s highest standards, as well as maintain onboarding curriculum. You’re passionate about creating innovative learning experiences for your target audience. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’re observant of client needs and enjoy finding innovative solutions to those needs. You’re sensitive and proactively address the needs of support agents in your instructional design, and you’re passionate about developing engaging and innovative e-learning training materials and job aids.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Meets with Training Program Manager to determine training performance objectives and design plan
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in a variety of fields to help translate their knowledge into an effective learning experience for others
- Design and develop performance objectives aligned with KPIs and quality
- Based on objectives, creates training activities and assessment
- Develops facilitator & classroom materials (including job aids)
- Conducts QC of eLearning developed
- Develops storyboards for eLearning development
- Develops assessment questions based on learning objectives as well as participant surveys
- Perform ongoing analysis of vendor performance and new product launches to ensure existing training content remains fresh, relevant and top of mind for users
Location
This is not a virtual/remote role; the role is work site dependent and requires a distinct level of professionalism. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience designing, developing and implementing online training and e- learning programs
Preferred Skills / Experience
- BA/BS degree in Communications, Instructional Design, Media Production, or 3 years equivalent practical experience
- Documented experience using a Learning Management System (LMS), and e-learning authoring tools (Evolve Authoring Tool)
- Strong consulting and relationship management skills, and a track record of delivery and impact
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly, as well as experience communicating effectively on bug tracking software and in stakeholder meetings
- Experience designing, developing and implementing a training curriculum using various formats including videos, job aids, facilitator guides and e-learning modules
- Graphic design and illustration experience is a plus
