    The Learning Experience Designer role will design, develop, implement, and evaluate engaging classroom and eLearning solutions across the Sea Island Resort to create the Sea Island University. This includes subjects pertaining to lodging, food & beverage, guest services, golf, spa and wellness, retail, and Five-Star Service. This position reports into Human Resources and will work directly with the Director of Learning & Development along with other members of the HR and training team to create the necessary training tools (written, eLearning, videos, etc.)

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    As a Learning Experience Designer supporting the Sea Island University, you approach your work with a collaborate, creative, design mindset. You see problems as challenges that are solvable by applying adult learning principles, effective design strategies and innovative learning methods. You are an effective storyteller and possess strong writing skills with the ability to write scenarios from different perspectives.

    Your-day-to-day looks like:

    · Conduct needs assessments, analyze, and resolve problems, making recommendations for learning solutions including content, logistics, success metrics, and modality

    · Leverage the ADDIE, SAM or similar model in analyzing designing, developing, implementing and evaluating performance support solutions

    · Design & develop training interventions in the following modalities: in-Person Instructor Led Training, Simulations, Web-based Training (eLearning), Virtual classrooms, coaching models, Just-in-Time performance-support

    · Create new materials or assets based on adult learning principles, observations, and SME feedback

    · Write persuasive and engaging content, scenarios, scripts, and support material aligned with design strategy

    · Design and build all materials within scope, including iterations and revisions based on feedback

    · Lead SME collaborative conversations to prioritize content, learning outcomes, and activities to meet deadlines and stay on track, presenting content proposals or design documents to stake holders

    · Assess and evaluate the efficacy of learning materials and update as appropriate, identifying opportunities to make materials more engaging for participants

    · Design and develop eLearning/SCORM course and publish content to the learning management system

    · Direct the creation of course content that engages the audience, increases retention, transfers skill/knowledge, and drives sustained behavior development

    YOU’LL ENJOY WORKING WITH US IF YOU HAVE:

    · Bachelor or master’s degree in Education, Training, Instructional Design, or related field

    · 3+ years of experience in training, behavioral principles, or adult learning

    · Experience developing and executing curriculum and learning strategies

    · Ability to work in a rapid-development, fast-paced environment

    · Expert skills in instructional design and learning consultant principle such as Bloom’s taxonomy, Content Presentation types, ARCS model, and Kirkpatrick Levels of Measurement

    · Utilizing instructional technology such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and multi-media interactive authoring software such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate strongly preferred) to create and edit course content

    · Strong skills in writing, editing, proofreading, and organizing course content, layout, and audio/video scripts

    · Creating instructional documents, guides, or job aids

    · Working with and guiding subject matter experts

    · Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and have an ability/desire to learn new software, as needed.

    · Experience working with Learning Management Systems required.

    · Detail-oriented with superb organizational and project management skills.

    · Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    · 2+ years in designing and developing learning programs in the restaurant, retail or lodging industries a plus.

    · 2+ years of previous relevant experience preferred: customer interaction, training, client services, program development, technical writing, etc.

    · Ability to travel periodically.
