    The 319th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) Distance Learning team is looking for a Multimedia Instructional Designer II to join our innovative and cutting-edge development team! The primary function of this role is to create digital images, videos, animations, narration, etc. to support interactive and engaging eLearning modules. This role works collaboratively to design multimedia for eLearning experiences that are at the cutting edge of self-service, self-paced, and semi-synchronous learning.

    This position is on-site only in Colorado Springs, CO. Please provide a portfolio of your work examples.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Multimedia Responsibilities

    • Designs, develops, and refines graphics, animations, multimedia, audio, and video content for use with in-residence and distance/online learning formats. This includes conceptualizing, storyboarding, scripting, filming, graphics, music selection, narration, and all facets of the pre/post-production process.
    • Creates custom multimedia videos ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes using a variety of approaches (e.g., talking head, testimonials, animation, motion graphics, PowerPoint, photo montage, b-roll, whiteboard, etc.).
    • Applies visual design best practice principles to the design and development of static and interactive elements (graphics, videos, animations, interactive simulations, etc.), while maintaining internal branding and graphics standards.
    • Revises written script and writes new copy that better fits an auditory performance.
    • Records and produces audio content for training material and other audio needs such as voice over, narration, and sound mixing.
    • Designs and creates 319 CTS materials, signage, general marketing materials, etc. for both print and online distribution as needed.
    • Maintains and organizes a vast library of media. Collaboratively manages multimedia assets.
    • Records in-residence classroom sessions as needed.
    • Instructional Design eLearning Responsibilities
    • Creates eLearning content that is instructionally sound and engaging with the ability to translate technical material into concise eLearning lessons for technical and non-technical users.
    • Follows standard Instructional Design process which includes all phases of the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate).
    • Collects and analyzes existing content from SMEs to determine appropriate learning solution(s).
    • Creates additional course materials (e.g., study guides, facilitator guides, reference materials) to meet learning objectives.
    • Uses industry standard eLearning authoring tools to create and upload LMS compliant courses.
    • Keeps abreast of continually evolving technologies and/or enhanced product features and functionality and incorporate into training design and development.
    • Daily administration of students on the 319 CTS Learning Management System (LMS).

    Job Requirements

    • Required Experience
    • 5+ years of multimedia design experience.
    • 3+ years of instructional design experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful and engaging multimedia assets and/or eLearning training elements.
    • Proficiency with audio, video, and eLearning tools and software, such as audio and video production equipment, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Articulate 360 Suite, Final Cut, and/or similar industry standard tools and software.
    • Expertise using an Apple MacBook Pro.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Troubleshooting and organizational skills with a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.
      • Experience using Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred.
      • Working knowledge of instructional design skills (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) and adult learning theories in all phases of instructional design, and ability to apply it to work assignments is preferred.

    Education and Security Clearance Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
    • Active TS/SCI security clearance, or ability to obtain one
