Ecolab’s Healthcare, Life Sciences, Purolite group is seeking a creative Instructional Designer with a passion for aligning talent development strategy with business objectives; analyzing skills gaps and creating programs to achieve strategic talent and business goals. This role will have direct functional alignment to the Group Learning & Development Leader and indirect alignment to the Purolite Business, VP HR.

The Instructional Designer will design and develop innovative, impactful and learner focused training solutions including associate onboarding, product and program knowledge, consultative sales and systems training. This role requires skill in instructional design, adult learning theory and digital learning technologies with an innate ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with all levels of business leaders and partners.

What will you do:

  • Apply knowledge and skills in instructional design to enable job performance for a global audience in multiple roles and functions.
  • Equip sales, service, and functional teams with onboarding, role-based, and development curricula.
  • Collaborate with all levels of business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders in the early stages of initiatives to assess business and learner needs to design a training solution.
  • Design and develop sustainable and innovative learning solutions and experiences using a variety of development tools that exemplify good practices in instructional design. (experiential classroom, on the job performance support, digital; eLearning, gamification, video, etc.).
  • Assure that training solutions incorporate best practices in adult learning theory by including the latest trends and techniques into course designs.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and ability to lead, design and develop large-scale projects with tight deadlines.
  • Communicate project tasks and updates to all parties involved at appropriate times throughout the project.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, the Training Manager is generally responsible for supporting the goals, values, and initiatives of the business groups and the company as needed. This may include lending assistance and time to vital tasks and projects unrelated to the specific job responsibilities outlined above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience related to instructional design using innovative and digital techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of ADDIE methodology or other ID methodologies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and performance analysis.
  • Experience in creating adult-learner focused training solutions in multimedia development.
  • Demonstrated ability for creating modern, visually appealing self-directed and instructor lead content for today’s learners that is easy and enjoyable to consume.
  • Expert proficiency with MS Office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with learning technologies and social collaboration tools; Adobe Suite, Articulate eLearning tools, Workday, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills.
  • Skilled communicator; in person, virtually, with all roles and in written and verbal form.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Organizational Development or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach and ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively.
  • Passion for developing business acumen for aligned business groups.
  • Experience working in a global organization where interaction across geographies, functions, and business units is key to success, including managing the creation of learning solutions in multiple languages.
  • Ability to deliver training via in person or virtual facilitation.
