Your role at Sephora:

The Manager, eLearning Development is responsible for the development of custom, innovative and engaging online training content for Sephora employees based in store. This includes managing a team of eLearning Developers as well as working collaboratively with Instructional Designers, Copywriters, Interactive Graphic Designers, Multimedia Developers, Subject Matter Experts and other cross functional partners to create blended learning solutions. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Creative Production, you will incorporate mixed media and sound instructional design/development methodologies. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of advanced eLearning development and people management skills and is passionate about building best in class learning. You will also:

 

  • Manage, lead, coach and develop eLearning Developers, providing guidance on prioritizing and performance
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on development trends/training tools and continuously explore new and innovative methodologies
  • Design and develop scalable blended instructor-led and digital learning curriculums (eLearnings, storyline blocks) and assessment tools that leverage adult learning best practices to maximize learner retention in collaboration with the Design team
  • Coordinate, manage and execute all necessary aspects of eLearning development including resource management, QA, standards and process
  • Design and build modules while incorporating stakeholder feedback; Ensure training deliverables adhere to overall Retail, Sephora and Sephora at Kohl’s strategy, as well as technical specifications and brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers to storyboard modules based on SME input and with Multimedia Developers and Interactive Graphic Designers to leverage graphics and animations as needed to elevate the learning experience
  • Research, organize and create content in logical eLearning sequences for maximum learner retention; Create custom graphics and animations as needed to elevate the learning experience
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders proposing innovative learning solutions to support organization needs and advocate for the learner experience
  • Influence the design and UX of learning programs in the LMS

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 3 – 5 years instructional design experience focused on eLearning development
  • 3 – 5 years people management experience, ability to develop and lead teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced digital learning or instructional design methodologies and technical skills; experience with graphic design, video, micro-learning, responsive design, gamification, simulations, animation/motion graphics in beauty/retail preferred
  • Advanced skills in various eLearning tools (i.e. Articulate Storyline, Adobe, Camtasia etc.) and expert knowledge of responsive design and advanced actions, HTML5, CSS, audio editing program (i.e. Audacity), and Learning Management Systems
  • Ability to conduct sound research, bring innovation to the team, independently troubleshoot/solve multi-faceted instructional technology issues
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Advanced process improvement and critical thinking skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excel in managing ambiguity in a fast-paced changing environment; ability to work proactively with various levels within the Retail department
  • Ability to travel as needed
