The Location: This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Learning Design and Development located in Carlsbad, California at our corporate headquarters. We offer a flexible work-from-home schedule, with one day in the office per week for local candidates.

Responsible for maintaining GIA Education accredited courses and Continuing Education seminars within the Blackboard Learning Management System. Also responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining GIA Education eLearning courses using both standard development tools (Articulate 360), HTML (exported from a Content Management System) and other tools as appropriate.
Utilize appropriate eLearning authoring tools to create interactive and engaging materials that enhance the student learning experience at GIA. Work with instructional systems design, graphics, and video personnel in LD&D to complete various projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create eLearning solutions using standard authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise as well as directly working in HTML.
  • Complete various tasks within the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) including, but not limited to designing, building and modifying course masters, and collaborating with the Education Service Desk and Student Systems team members to assist GIA instructors and students.
  • Design, develop, and deploy various digital learning solutions by combining images, 2-D and 3-D animations, video segments, and illustrations in a range of file formats.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Instructional Designers (ISD), graphic artists, and to develop innovative interactive elements for eLearning courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Proficiency with HTML and standard authoring tools – in particular – Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise.
  • Hands-on experience developing/customizing solutions using industry-leading publishing platforms and Learning Management Systems (Blackboard or similar).
  • High level of proficiency with the following programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier, and any other applications in the Adobe CC suite, MS Office suite of products.
  • Very strong ability to learn new authoring tools or technologies quickly.
  • Strong interest in and comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with SCORM and other eLearning standards.
  • Comfortable working in both PC and Mac environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex info in a simplified and clear manner; can communicate effectively with others, able to develop and modify communication strategies to deliver difficult or complex information.
  • Ability to create positive interactions with colleagues; actively communicates with co-workers or with management in a timely & professional manner; maintains collaborative working relationship with others.
  • Continually improves performance; takes personal accountability for decisions, actions & outcomes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma and 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
