
West Park Healthcare Centre
As an integral member of learning resources at West Park for HR and Campus Development, the eLearning and Instructional Design Specialist will work with content owners, stakeholders, and learners across West Park to develop and deliver, or update existing online training courses that is learner centered, evidence based, and focused on excellence.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma program in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Curriculum Development
- 5-7 years working experience as an Instructional Designer designing and developing eLearning curriculum
- Development Tools and Experience for eLearning, video, and graphic production
- Expert knowledge of and solid experience using Articulate Storyline 1 and 2, and Articulate Studio including RISE required
- Expert knowledge of and solid experience using Adobe Suite (Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Sound Booth, Dreamweaver, Fireworks)
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting SCORM compliant courses
- Technical writing or editing experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience of hardware, software and processes to design and produce short videos ( max 10 min) for learning, orientation, and change management purposes.
- Graphics knowledge to source and create graphics to include in learning objects
- Familiarity with ZOOM platform features to enable learning in webinar formats internally
Accountabilities:
- Design and develop online training using adult learning principles that support training transfer (e.g. content, case studies, and exercises).
- Provide education consultation services to help others make the best decisions on the type of learning interventions required to meet their needs.
- Assess learning needs and desired outcomes, create learning objectives, and present training strategies and design options.
- Negotiate and obtain agreement on scope of work, define roles and responsibilities and follow online learning standards.
- Demonstrates effective administration and organizational skills to meet timelines and milestones.
Independently follow through on initiatives and work projects with minimal supervision. - Analyze course materials, interpret information, and develop content that is appropriate to learner needs and skills.
- Develop instructional design documentation (e.g. storyboards) that meet established design standards.
- Make use of a variety of established tools and techniques to produce learning designs.
- Publish course materials in a variety of formats including SCORM format.
- Collaborating with IT troubleshoot courses in the Leaning Management System (LMS) and debug course issues.
- Able to problem solve and resolve issues in a timely matter. Takes initiative to anticipate and resolve issues.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes for courses.
- Maintains course documentation and develops a plan to regularly review, maintain and evaluate content with subject matter experts.
- Participates actively in a team setting, collaborates well with the LMS team to optimize the use of the LMS
