Job Summary
This role sits in the Training Center of Excellence within the Talent Management department of Human Resources and is aligned with all areas within the enterprise. The Instructional Design Manager role is responsible for the full life cycle of analyzing, designing, building, and implementing business-aligned, integrated learning solutions that align with OneAmerica business goals using a variety of techniques and tools. This role will partner with learning and performance managers, instructional design managers, and other TCOE team members to lead small- to mid-sized learning design and development efforts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with performance consultants, multimedia developers, technical trainers, subject-matter experts, business leaders, technologists, and other project team members on design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions.
- Promotes a blended delivery method for instruction. (i.e., web-based, self-paced, OJT)
- Ensures the quality and effectiveness of learning and performance support materials by adherence to TCOE design and quality standards, marketing, and branding standards, and aligning with organizational, divisional, and team mission and goals, and industry best practices.
- Participates in client review meetings and manages the review cycle for individual or multiple learning solutions.
- Enhances knowledge and skills through participation and contribution in sub[1]teams and other development and stretch opportunities.
- Provides technical direction on end-to-end design and development of web[1]based learning technology projects; collaborates with project team members, subject-matter experts, and business leadership on requirements, design, development, and implementation of projects using multimedia software.
- Carries out a thorough needs analysis based on TCOE standards or in partnership with an instructional design manager.
- Adheres to sub-project plans, functional specifications, and schedules; manages to internal timelines
Job Requirements
Required Education and/or Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, or related field.
Recommended Education and/or certifications
- Masters in Instructional Systems Technology or Instructional Design
- Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) certification or Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD)
- Master Instructional Designer certification from ATD
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Required Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the design and development of learning solutions, including at least 1 year designing web-based and blended learning solutions
- Demonstrated experience making content and minor functional updates in rapid eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360
- Demonstrated experience with the ADDIE model
- Ability to procure and analyze data to assist in determining appropriate learning strategy
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
