    The Instructional Designer will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create instructor-led training sessions, instructor-led training guides, eLearning modules, and supporting materials following an instructional design process.

    This individual will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, videos, and audio to communicate with stakeholders and create dynamic content.

    Top-notch presentation, organizational skills, time management and a passion for continuous learning are also needed to succeed in this position.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Become familiar and stay current with all Employers Council training content, services, and internal operations.
    • In partnership with SMEs across the organization, clearly define effective learning objectives and outcomes for all instructor led training content.
    • Develop and design courses and curriculum that utilizes the latest Instructional Systems Design techniques to offer captivating, engaging, effective, and innovative learning solutions that include in person, and virtual training. This includes instructor facilitator guides, assessments, activities, exercises, job aids, simulations, gaming, social learning, and other formats as appropriate.
    • Conduct Train the Trainers upon course design completion/update to ensure instructors are familiar with course and how to use learning technologies.
    • Analyze, update, and refine existing instructor led and eLearning content.
    • Apply advanced adult learning theories into practical, application-based learning experience.
    • Collaborate on the development and implementation of an assessment process to measure the impact and effectiveness of training, contributing to the improvements for continuous enhancements.
    • Collaborate to ensure training content remains current, relevant, accurate, and consistently aligned with organizational goals.
    • Stay current in industry standard learning technology, learning trends, and innovations in training and instructional methodologies. Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences, and workshops.
    • Leverage existing and/or off-the-shelf learning content that may be modified to support learning needs.
    • Analyze and select technologies to effectively support engaging delivery for synchronous and asynchronous learning.
    • Become proficient with Employers Council’s Learning Management System.
    • Assist in script writing for video and audio content.
    • Design and develop asynchronous eLearning courses from start to finish, including storyboarding, LMS integration, and testing.
    • Create unique custom interactions based on content as needed to elevate the learning experience.
    • Embody a growth mindset and demonstrate the ability to inspire others.
    • Some travel required

     

    Location: Reports to Denver office; remote work available to applicants in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

    • BA/BS in Training, Instructional Design, a related field, or equivalent work-related experience required.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing instructor led learning solutions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.
    • Familiarity with instructional design models and principles required.
    • Excellent communication skills (written, visual, and oral), critical and creative thinking, strong project management skills, and knowledge of leading-edge learning technology required.
    • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, team environment required.
    • Experience using eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360, and Camtasia) required.
    • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop strongly preferred.
    • Familiarity with CXD (customer experience design) principles and practice or related industry experience highly desirable.
    • Ability and willingness to adapt quickly to new technologies.
