This Learning Developer, Experienced, will report to the Manager of Learning Development (for Customer Experience, Operations, Pharmacy & Provider Dispute Resolution).

    Your Work

    In this role, you will:

    • Perform learning needs analysis and determine appropriate learning solutions for a variety of learner types with varying skill levels
    • Create simple/moderately complex instructor-led training materials about processes and systems for instructors to teach from
    • Format materials for readability, to create clear graphics from screenshots, and use templates for continuity
    • Create hands-on practice exercises and assessments
    • Work with subject matter experts within and outside of Enterprise Learning to create and deliver a training plan, including how to measure effectiveness of the course
    • Work with Learning Stakeholder Management team, leadership, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Facilitators, Technical Communicators, and other Learning Developers to create comprehensive learning materials and programs
    • Work with Supervisor and Learning Stakeholder Management team to manage workload and collaborate with a networked team to develop and implement training programs.
    • Build learning solutions including designing and developing instructor led materials focusing on processes and systems for facilitators to teach in live virtual training. Learn how to create eLearning courses with on the job training.
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships across all business units and Enterprise Learning teams.
    • Work with project teams to perform learning needs analysis, determine appropriate learning solutions for a variety of learner types with varying skill levels, learning plans, instructor led training, and job aids.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Your Knowledge and Experience
    Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and 3 years of prior relevant experience

    • Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
    • Requires strong writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Requires basic knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory, typically obtained through education combined with experience
    • Requires ability to format materials for readability, to create clear graphics from screenshots, and to use templates for continuity
    • Requires basic knowledge/understanding and some experience using SnagIt or other graphics programs. Experience using Articulate Storyline is a plus
    • Requires basic understanding of instructor led delivery, how adult learners experience and process new learning, and how to create learner engagement

     

    Note:

    Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

    Pay Range

    The pay range for this role is: $ 66770.00 to $ 93390.00 for California.

    • Hybrid – In a business unit approved office a few times per year to 3 days per week, on average

If the role you’re applying for is deemed an “Essential Role,” the company has determined that the role can only be performed in a Blue Shield office or in the field and would require your to meet the office worker classification.

    Physical Requirements:

    Office Environment – roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork – Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
