The Senior Instructional Designer works collaboratively with faculty to project manage the design, development, and delivery of eLearning supported courses, ensuring the highest possible quality and accessibility. The Senior Instructional Designer:

- Consults with faculty on effective instructional design for eLearning-supported courses; provides suggestions, feedback, and coaching on the most effective online strategies
- Uses principles of universal design, equitable online learning design, creativity, imagination, and emerging instructional technologies to bring fresh ideas to the design of robust and engaging online courses
- Serves as project manager for the course development process; coordinates other resources from the eCourse design & Development, so that faculty may focus on instructional issues.

Principal Accountabilities
- Act as project manager for each course assigned
- Maintain broad knowledge regarding accessibility standards, universal design principles, and equity rubrics for design in online learning
- Guide faculty in ensuring measurable unit outcomes that align with Master Syllabus course outcomes at the appropriate cognitive level, develop effective learning activities, organize and present course content
- Help faculty understand the assessment/ evaluation options available in all eLearning supported modalities and courses and their pros and cons
- Continually research best practices in online pedagogy and instructional design and makes this current knowledge available to faculty developing online courses for Sinclair
- Conduct a formal quality review of completed courses using Sinclair quality standards and Quality Matters rubrics
- Serve as the primary contact for the faculty members and coordinate the efforts of supporting team members
- See the course through the entire course development
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a related field such as Education, Instructional Design or Instructional Technology required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Teaching, or Training required
- Experience in instructional design for online, CBE, and hybrid courses preferred
- Intermediate general computer and Learning Management System skills required
- Basic Microsoft Word and HTML skills required
- Ability to contribute and thrive in a high-energy, creative and collaborative team environment required
