Job Summary:
The Instructional Designer Developer will support a range of learning initiatives within our growing firm. In this position, you will design, develop, and deliver relevant content to our team members to support professional growth and development. The Instructional Designer Developer position is within Human Resources and reports to the Training and Development Manager. This role is fully remote.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate effectively: Engage internal partners appropriately for creation and delivery of training and materials. Conduct needs assessment with subject matter experts, leaders, or other stakeholders to identify learning needs and performance gaps. Gather data and insights into learner requirements. Determine requirements and communicate learning plan.
- Design curriculum: Utilize adult learning principles to design and develop curriculum frameworks, course outlines, and instructional plans that align with learning objectives and organizational goals. Organize content into logical sequences or units and select appropriate instructional strategies and resources to support learning outcomes.
- Develop instructional material: Create instructional materials and resources, including presentations, handouts, quick reference guides, and multimedia content to support teaching and learning activities. Develop interactive e-learning modules, videos, simulations, or other multimedia assets to engage learners and facilitate knowledge acquisition.
- Facilitate: deliver engaging learning experiences to new and existing team members. Conduct training sessions virtually, live and recorded.
- Re-evaluate and improve: Utilize and seek data to determine effectiveness of training, edit and adjust learning content to best support business need.
- Drive success: Drive training program and platform adoption across the organization. Represent the Training and Development team in projects as assigned.
You will be a great fit if:
- 6 or more years of experience required within corporate training and development, human resources, or related field, required
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful training programs along with strong facilitation skills are critical
- Proficiency in Articulate, Captivate, or similar eLearning authoring tool, required
- Knowledge and skill working with MS Office products, SharePoint
- Knowledge of learning management systems and web-based training development software
- Experience working in the AEC industry is preferred
Skills/abilities:
- Expertise in adult learning principles and facilitation methods
- Demonstrated exceptional oral, analytical, writing, and presentation skills
- Outstanding communication skills, including active listening, ability to adapt communication style to the audience, and ability synthesize and summarize key information
- Ability to manage a variety of job specific projects, while maintaining appropriate levels of service in existing programs and meet the demands of a constantly changing environment
- Energetic, positive, solution oriented, and self-motivated
- Experienced in executing strategic initiatives and tactical daily responsibilities
- Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner without active supervision is critical, but similarly important is knowing when to ask for help
- Focused on training trends, developments, and best practices
- Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that can include deadline pressures
