Ferguson is currently seeking an Instructional Designer who will collaborate with leadership and experts to craft compelling and impactful learning experiences. This role involves harnessing the finest aspects of instructional design coupled with technological advancements to develop superior content that aids our associates and aligns with our business objectives.
This position sits with the Ferguson Academy Learning Design team and offers excellent growth and career opportunities.
Location:
This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to build curriculum that supports business goals
- Create engaging learning content that enhances knowledge retention and transfer
- Collaborate across teams to execute learning design and content development
- Develop on-demand content using tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise
- Develop content for live in-person, virtual, on-demand, and self-paced delivery methods, to include course materials, supporting documentation and toolkits
- Design and develop creative graphic solutions to support projects
- Apply advanced knowledge of graphic design using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to build toolkits, infographics and more
- Record and edit high quality audio for on-demand narration and podcasts using tools such as Adobe Audition and Audacity
- Write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
Qualifications:
- Portfolio link on resume ideal and/or will request a portfolio
- 4+ years of instructional development experience
- 3+ years of graphic design experience, preferred
- Associates Degree (or higher), in instructional design, related area of study preferred
- Strong curriculum development experience
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing the entire development cycle from inception to completion
- Exceptional proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- High level of creativity and ability to think in an unexpected way to seek innovative solutions and new practices
- Experience with efficiency gains through AI course development tools
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-starter with strong verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain work relationships
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Fearless, entrepreneurial spirit, who is not afraid to dive in headfirst and bring new ideas, technologies and methodologies to the team
- Ability to work with all levels of associates and minimal supervision in a dynamic environment

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
$4,124.70 – $7,791.30
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
